A CRITIC IS BETTER THAN A HUGE FAN

A critic is better than a huge fan

 

“How many times do I have to teach you , just because something works doesn`t mean it can`t be improved “ – shuri said in the movie black panther , that altogether makes us understand that Criticism is the soul of human life, whether it is art, music, cinema, romance , thesis , or even human calibre .C riticism makes the creator rich and affluent in his intellect of improving and magnifying his or her creation for the world , but most importantly for himself . There are days when human beings feel that critics should be thrown out of the nation as they are mere disapprovers of everything but this is not the way to sustain living. Contradiction is the way of life that make the flow feel worthy enough . A wholly devoted fan who always praises one for his or her writings or any work or creation can make the creator feel haughty and satisfied with whatever he or she is doing that devours the whole purpose of art. Art is only artistic when it could impact humans in a way where they  stop in between and appreciate certain parts but that doesn`t mean  that the audience  should not be left with the freedom to criticise certain other parts of the art. You might like the characters and plot twist of the story but you might not enjoy the ending and one should be totally in cognisance to have the right to do that .

Even kabir once said- Keep the slanderers near, let the courtyard shine,  and then even without water and soap,  one is able to clean themselves in humility [निंदक नियरे राखिए, आंगन कुटी छवाय, बिन पानी, साबुन बिना, निर्मल करे सुभाय।]. constant appreciation not only  create unnecessary creative blocks  but makes the creator thinks that everything that he or she feels or contemplates is worth of mere appreciation even if it is baseless . Fans or mere appreciators only see and feel one perspective of life or art or their favourite creator whether it is a writer , painter or politician whereas the critics points the follies and faults within the piece of work that not only  makes the creator see them and not get blinded by their fans but even improve their creation for the world and become a better creator themselves  .  vladimir lenin ones said – “the fear of criticism displayed by the advocates of the freedom of criticism , cannot  be attributed solely to the craftiness . No, the majority of the resentment upon all theoretical controversies , factional disagreements , broad political questions , plans for organizing revolutionaries, etc.”

If the people in power won`t be criticised  from time to time ina nation than the day won`t be far ahead that autocracy would consume human freedom as we could see in nations like North korea or Afghanistan . Even Rabindranth Tagore once said that if you will shut the door to all errors ,then truth would be shut out . Criticism is inevitable, whether it is of the  profound , the ruler , the artist , the student , the worker , the government or even the social institutions . Criticisms once culled under the blanket of blindness would certainly bleed blood of sorrow and suffering from the bones of humankind . Silence or appreciation coupled with proper criticism make a human  with humanity , a government with governance , an artist with art, the actor with the act  and a ruler with reliance . Amartya sen in his book an “Argumentative Indian” specifies the importance and liberty  of dissent , debate , discussion and dissimilar thoughts . Certainly or not certainly , one would always have an alternative path that would be better , whether it is a man with daily hustles or the most prominent businessman of the world , but how would they know that there is a way out , only by the sheer will of human to critic the path they are on or few aspects of it . if the civilians of the nation lack sheer will and freedom to do this , then life would be monotonous  and mourned duly and ultimately . As critics make the creators and creator makes the creations and creations bring a cause to make life worth living admist the  loop of constant suffering of chaos , compulsions and constraints .
