THE NAMBI EFFECT

There is a very famous quote by Vladimir Lenin , that goes like ‘There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen. Similarly there are days we watch or read a story , and there are days where we read or watch a tragedy , but there are very few days where we live and have near to life worth living experience in the form  of a story . Similarly with respect to this quote , there are days when I live years or let me put it this ways there are certain days that make your year worthwhile and watching the most wonderful cinema counts in one  of them . Today was one of that day, I am glad that I am having it in the starting of the year . I often watch movies and read stories , but rarely I  feel that this is the cinema we want. Almost after 4 months , I would be writing again not a review about a movie but how I feel and what cinema leaves me with and why stories are important , more than that why exceptional stories are significant and how do they create a difference in our lives . ROCKETRY – some of you might have heard the name of the movie. Some of you may have watched it , but to those who haven`t , I would say leave everything for 2.5 hrs and go and watch it and come back to this later.  A movie like this even make me feel that decades have passed in a few hours not from my life but in the life of the true events that have been shown that projects the real calibre to impact mankind in a little small and different ways . There are days when cinema sucks because it forgets to hold his purpose that is telling a genuine story but there are days when cinema shines so brightly that it can blind you because it regains it purpose back and again and more firmly

A movie , a biography , a story , no not only this but the journey of a resilient man who taught us in more than one way that morals  make mankind and even if one is 100% correct , the world won`t stop testing you . Sheer determination to do anything and exceptional talent to be inborn with makes one`s life tough , not easy , similarly the pursuit of wonder might put oneself in the pitfall of vulnerability . The dichotomy of life goes on and life keep on throwing hard balls on you , but if we are capable of sweeping them away in a clear drive , the day won`t be far when instead of bouncers , we might get thrown bats from the other end . The umpire could be sold, the  person on the other end could be non performing , the stumps may commence falling out themselves and  not even that ,  the whole crowd might start cheering against you . The story of an aerospace scientist , Nambi Narayan is one of those few stories that are not only stories to be read and talked about in leisure but it is that story that requires sheer patience and perseverance to pertain for and when one asks  pertain for what ? the answer is pertain for the calibre to hold back tears in your eyes  , anger in your fist , words on your tongue and sorrow in your heart . 

A story that is told in a way through this magical cinema that make one ardent to have a point that whether it is a scientist , an astronaut , a doctor , a soldier, a spy  or any other renowed profession that involve sacrifice at every end of their life and for the sake of their nation , then one should put back their guns and swords to first enquire who is the real victim and who is the real victor ? who is the hunter and who is hunted?  who is the culprit and who is the innocent ? but unfortunately in a country like India , innocent professionals from renowned professions suffers in jail while the  corrupt ministers  with 99999 cases of fraud and scams would get the ticket to fight other election . The civilians like you and me , not someone else go that blind to that , we even vote for corrupt and criticise the victim. Nambi Narayan was not the only one who suffered or would be the last in any case. We , have to keep our eyes open to cull the culprit . you might feel blessed to watch and enjoy cinema like this but unfortunately cinema and stories like this are not for entertainment and enjoyment purpose . we should feel ashamed , that still patriotism get sold and then wrapped in the shrouds of ballon aired nationalism and then we as Indians , as a community , as a nation altogether loose because what we sacrifice is not the potential of scientists like nambi Narayan  but our ability to move forward and take a leap as nation in technologies whether it is missile , rocket , biotechnology, medications , vaccines , etc .

Affcourse life would move on and everyone would no sooner than later forget this but one need to remember that when  Vladimir lenins said  like ‘There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen” , then the decades when nothing happens are caused only when talents like these die slow , subtle and silent death of half awakened mournings, unfullfiled pursuits and uncherished dreams .
